چکیده
Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) is the 400–700 nm portion of solar spectrum that photoautotrophic organisms including plants, algae, and cyanobacteria use for photosynthesis. PAR a key variable in global ecosystem Earth system modeling, playing prominent role carbon water cycling. Alongside air temperature, availability, atmospheric CO2 concentration, controls photosynthesis consequently biomass productivity general. The management agricultural horticultural crops, forests, grasslands, even grasses at sports venues non-exhaustive list applications which an accurate knowledge resource desirable. Modern agrivoltaic systems also require good conjunction with variables needed to monitor co-located photovoltaic system. In situ quality-controlled sensors provide high-quality information specific locations. However, due associated installation maintenance costs, such data are relatively scarce generally extend over restricted sometimes non-continuous period. Numerous studies have already demonstrated potential offered by surface estimates based on satellite as reliable alternatives measurements. accuracy these estimations site-dependent related, example, local climate, landscape, viewing angle satellite. To assess models, we inter-compared 11 methods estimating 30 min satellite-derived 33 ground-based station locations several climate regions Europe, Africa, South America. Averaged across stations, results showed average relative biases (relative measurement mean) 1 20%, standard deviation 25 30%, root mean square error 25% 35% correlation coefficient always above 0.95 all methods. Improved performance was seen cloud-free sites, quality degraded towards edge Meteosat Second Generation area. A compromise between computational time, memory allocation, achieved most using Jacovides applied horizontal irradiance from HelioClim-3 or CAMS Radiation Service. conclusion, can alternative estimation applications.

fAPAR (fraction of Absorbed Photosynthetically Active Radiation) estimates at various scale
This paper reviews the several methods available for estimating the fAPAR, both at local and large scale. The fAPAR definition is first discussed with regards to the directionality of the incident radiation. Then, the several techniques to estimate fAPAR from local ground measurements are reviewed with emphasis on the sampling strategy. We then describe methodologies to upscale fAPAR measuremen...
متن کاملPhotosynthetically active radiation: measurements and modelling
Photosynthetically-active radiation is a necessary input in applications dealing with plant physiology, biomass production and natural illumination in greenhouses. Unfortunately, a worldwide routine network for the measurement of photosynthetically-active radiation is not yet established and it is often calculated as a constant ratio of the broadband solar radiation. This ratio is affected by m...
متن کاملValidation of an Empirical Model for Photosynthetically Active Radiation
Knowledge of the photosynthetically active radiation is necessary in different applications dealing with plant physiology, biomass production and natural illumination in greenhouses. Nevertheless, as a result of the absence of widespread measurements of this radiometric flux, it is often calculated as a constant ratio of the broadband solar radiation. This ratio is affected by many parameters. ...

متن کاملMapping incident photosynthetically active radiation from MODIS data over China
Photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) is a key input parameter for almost all terrestrial ecosystem models, but the spatial resolution of current PAR products is too coarse to satisfy regional application requirements. In this paper, we present an operational system for PAR retrieval from MODIS data that is based on an idea proposed by [Liang, S., Zheng, T., Liu, R., Fang, H., Tsay, S. -C.,...
